These machines are characterized by precise angled cutting thanks to specially designed sliding table guides. Most manufacturers have their own systems, such as Felder’s X-Roll system, Martin’s system, or the commonly used steel rod guide system used by Altendorf or Rema, which replaced earlier table guidance on textolite strips.

A key component of a sliding table saw is the scoring unit. Without it, cutting laminated boards without chipping on the underside is impossible. The small blade located directly in front of the main blade plays an important role not only in cutting laminated boards but also veneered ones. The scoring unit has multiple adjustments so that the operator can align both blades in a single cutting line.
